The MDL Foundation is dedicated to fostering a more just, verdant, and peaceful world. We firmly believe that strong communities are the foundation of any society.
We are a non-profit organization established exclusively for charitable, religious, educational, and scientific purposes. We achieve our mission by supporting local organizations with similar aims. All distributions are made to organizations that qualify as exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or the corresponding section of any future federal tax code.
We are committed to using our resources responsibly. No part of our net earnings benefits our members, trustees, officers, or other private individuals, except for reasonable compensation for services rendered. We do not engage in propaganda or attempt to influence legislation, and we do not participate in any political campaign on behalf of or in opposition to any candidate for public office.
The MDL Foundation is governed by a Board of Directors who bring diverse perspectives and expertise to our organization. Our board members are deeply committed to our mission and work together to guide our strategy, ensure effective use of our resources, and uphold the highest standards of integrity and accountability.
Our Board of Directors
Our Donation Process
Our Board of Directors is responsible for deciding where our funds are donated. We follow a careful and transparent process to ensure that our donations have the greatest possible impact:
Assessment: Our Board of Directors takes an active role in assessing community needs and identifying organizations that align with our mission and values. In addition to their own research, our board values the insights and recommendations of our employees, who often have direct connections to the communities we serve. We encourage our employees to suggest potential recipient organizations, and we carefully consider their recommendations as part of our assessment process. This inclusive approach ensures that we have a diverse and well-informed perspective when deciding where to allocate our funds.
Evaluation: Our Board of Directors reviews potential recipient organizations, considering their track record, impact, and alignment with our goals.
Decision: Our Board of Directors makes informed decisions on where to allocate funds. We strive to support organizations that can make a significant and lasting impact on the communities they serve.
Follow-up: We monitor the progress and outcomes of our donations, working closely with recipient organizations to assess their impact and ensure our support is making a difference.
